Joshua Longhurst is a director, producer and sometimes writer, raised in Young, NSW. His writing debut 'Ravage' premiered in the Dendy Short Film Competition at Sydney Film Festival (2013). His directorial debut 'Oasis' (2016) premiered on ABC2 and won the Emerging Filmmaker Award at both the Mardi Gras Film Festival and the Melbourne Queer Film Festival.

Joshua studied producing at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (2016) and in 2017 he started the independent production company Wintergarden Pictures with collaborators, Tim Spencer and Rosie Braye.

Joshua co-produced and directed 'Cherry Season' (2018) with production support from the Create NSW Generator Emerging Filmmakers Fund, SBS Australia and Executive Producers CJZ. 'Cherry Season' premiered on SBS Viceland and screened at Revelation Perth International Film Festival and Rhode Island International Film Festival. He also produced the queer comedy web series 'Ding Dong I'm Gay' (2018) which has over a million views on YouTube and is currently developing a new season supported by Screen Australia and Create NSW. 

In 2019 Joshua was selected by Create NSW to attend the Melbourne International Film Festival Accelerator Director's Lab alongside emerging directors from Australia and New Zealand. He is also developing his first feature film, 'Happy God' with Tim Spencer.
