Joshua+Longhurst+Director

Joshua Longhurst is a director, producer and writer. His writing debut 'Ravage' premiered in the Dendy Short Film Competition at Sydney Film Festival (2013). His directorial debut 'Oasis' (2016) premiered on ABC2 and won the Emerging Filmmaker Award at both the Mardi Gras Film Festival and the Melbourne Queer Film Festival.

In 2016, Joshua studied producing at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School and in 2017 he co-founded the independent production company Wintergarden Pictures.

Joshua co-produced and directed 'Cherry Season' (2018) with production support from Create NSW; Generator Emerging FIlmmakers Fund, SBS Australia and Executive Producers CJZ. 'Cherry Season' premiered on SBS Viceland and screened at many domestic and International Festivals.

He is currently producing the comedy web series 'Ding Dong I'm Gay' with development support from Create NSW and Screen Australia. The Proof of Concept has over 1.2 million views on YouTube.

In 2019, Joshua was selected by Create NSW to attend the Melbourne International Film Festival Accelerator Director's Lab alongside emerging directors from Australia and New Zealand.
